i was wondering if i can swap 2 system's hardware....basically mobo and cpu w/o reformatting both system. i built my sister a comp and now it have proven superior to mine and she wont be using all that power to surf the web, aim, msn...etc. her system is a lot faster at games than mine with the same gfx card. (her system gets 75-80ish on source with max everything, i get 40-45ish)

i know the drivers issue might mess it up, but im thinking of unistalling every driver b4 i swap the mobo and cpu between the 2 system. would i still have to reformat?

EDIT: and i meant to say that i dont want to swap the hdd...just the mobo and cpu.

It depends a lot on how similar the mobo's are. Tell us what they are and we can advise you better.

If one is an AMD board and the other is Intel the answer is going to be reformat.

try it and you might have to do a repair install.
basically all of your files an settings will stay the same, but you will have to do windowsupdates again.
but it will work with the motherboard and cpu then.

I could see big problems coming from driver issues. I'd just reformat if I were you....
