a while ago a question was asked 'what was the first game to receive bbfc classification?'

this months issue of edge had a feature on the bbfc. apparently the 1st game to recieve classifiactoin was an obscure text adventure from 1980 called 'dracula in london'. this was followed quickly bt 'frankenstein' and 'wolfman'

apparently the only two games to have ever had things cut from them are 'harvester' and 'phantansmorigia2' (ive never heard of either....)

sorry if this is a bit late for you rip - but i only got the issue today!

    hope its helpful mate

Wait I'm sorry... what? BBFC classification?

EDIT: Do you mean my "What was the first rated M game" thread?

It's late, I'm sleepy, and I have no idea what your talking about.

Newcombe, glad to see I'm not the only one reading Edge

But the article was on the BBFC - Isn't the M (Mature) an ESRB rating?

illumanti - you may well be right pal - in all honesty i get a bit confused between the two. bloody good article though - edge is still the best adult games mag out there in my oppinion

theres also a program on itv (uk) next week about games and there role in society (good and bad). no doubt gta/hitman will get the blame for recent killings, rather than bad parenting and the fact that the people invovled are seriously disturbed anyway.......
