    worth it?
I'm building a computer, and I'm considering buying a cheap refurbished computer and strip out the good parts, and using the case, ram, and the cd drive, if a desktop the moniter etc.

But I've never bought a refurbished computer before. Are they as good as new? Is the hard drive wiped and set a at normal just-as-new condition?

Any sites known for selling quality refurbished computers?

Edit: Sorry I feel like a shit ! If building is a hobbie , please don't let my post discourage you. Yes you can build a cheap computer, for internet use, homework and the like. But you get what you pay for! Warranties are nice also ,but sometimes its best to start from strenght .

Well go and have one, no point in holding it in.

Yeah well, I'm looking for a big cheap lcd flatscreen, of course, cheap and lcd don't go together.
And the reason I was gonna build it was to get the new radeon card and a fast processor to support half-life 2. so thats basically where all the money is to go.

I'd say new new new. Old parts can f-up new parts. Some more than others. I'm considering the high cost of the new parts you want.

    mine was used.
    It's a peice of crap.

I wouldn't buy anything but retail or OEM when it comes to harddrives.
Actually i dont want any part of my computer to be refurbished.
