Well, nutsy Ryanair has gone and done it again. The Brit carrier, that put the “no-frills” into “no-frills airlines” (it's currently getting rid of window shades and seatback storage areas to cut back on maintenance expenses), is slashing its rates to their lowest lever ever: zip, nada, diddly-squat. On certain routes, for certain flights, Ryanair is allowing customers to come onboard simply for the cost of taxes and security fees.

As you might expect, seats are very limited at this, uh, non-price but there are many options for travelers flying out of the airlines two London hubs (Luton and Stanstead), Glasgow, Dublin or Shannon. From Stanstead, for example (the Gateway with the most options), passengers do a freebie wingding to St. Etienne (for Lyon), Pisa, Oslo, Shannon, Frankfurt, Salzburg and Cork (among many, many options). The carrier has also put its newest routes on sale, giving tremendous publicity to the fact that in a month or three it will be expanding its reach to Riga, Dusseldorf and Zaragoza (again, among others).

On our test runs, we were able to find freebie flights five out of seven times.

Here's how you have to game the system:

1) Speed read the rest of this article, so you can go immediately to the Ryanair site and try your luck. Tickets are based on availability and going fast.

2) If you can't book right now, be sure to book before midnight, London time on Thursday, as the promotion ends then.

3) Note that while you won't be able to book flights during holiday periods (or for major sporting events), almost anything else is fair game from Sept. 28 through Feb. 5. The only other black-out dates that we know of are: Oct. 21 through 31, and Dec. 18 through Jan. 5.

4) Be flexible! If you don't come up with a free ticket on your first try, try the day before or the day after.

So, why are you still reading this Savings Sleuth posting? Get over to the Ryannair site and get your free flight before it's gone.

all you do is send the text message and you get a code back, you just read this code out when you buy your ticket and you get a second ticket for free, fantastic
