Still, it was never in any doubt that they'd make a sequel eventually. As long as they profit from the franchise, they'll keep making the games.

no sequal has ever been good after the addition of extra playable characters, it doesn't happen. next thing it'll be third person

I dunno, I think having the sequel now is better than waiting...oh say...5 years for HL3...Playing as Alyx could also mean just switching as characters while in a mission. It could prolly be like in KOTOR, when u switched characters. if thats the case, that would be awesome..
