We tend to use the nicely pc word of 'disabled' in the Uk, doesn't seem to offend anyone to my limited knowledge.

In a similar way, I prefer the disabled parking spaces at sainsbury's, there's more room to get out of your car, and they're much closer to the shop entrance...
