1 long beep (repeats) - system memory problem, try memtest boot disk or different RAM stick
1 long, 2 short beeps (repeats) - Video problem, start by troubleshooting card then motherboard
1 long, 3 short beeps (repeats) - treat the same as previous beep code (video/mobo)
long continuous beeping - again usually caused by faulty or improperly installed system memory.

    Any help?
There isn't a bargepole long enough for me to work on [a Sony Viao] - clocker 2008

You cannot use memtest for this. You need to try other RAM.

Be sure to start with only the basic minimum to boot. I mean remove all unnessasary parts. Leave only the Power supply, Motherboard, CPU, RAM and Video card.

you cant see anything on the screen? try a different video card. get some cheapo nvidia riva card and see if it makes a difference. better yet: if it has integrated video, use that.

wait a sec what video card is in that thing? (why do i get the feeling that the board u are using doesnt have integrated video, and u added no video card? >_<)

welp i tried everything, i tested cpu, ram, and it was good so i guess it is the mobo or vid card, man this sux , still beeps

edit: i tested the video card on another comp and it wrks
so i guess it has to be the motherboard! i wonder why they would send me a bad motherboard bad? this ticks me off, thanx guys.
