Tabbed Browsing In Firefox

Is there a way to make it DEFAULT so that when you click on a link in Firefox it opens in another tab instead of a new window? I know you can "middle click" (if your mouse has a wheel or a middle button) a link and it will open up in a new tab, but other than that, everytime I click a link in Firefox it opens up in a new Window instead of a new tab. How can i fix this?
