When overclocking u are voiding the warranty and could cause damamge to the pc.
    good point there ....
one thing to note though ... when OC-ing on newer PCs, dun expect a miracle ommph...
performance is marginally improved only .... not like in the past where the performance was very evident ...

OC nowadays is normally for statistical/personal challenge ...

The results can pretty good. Just remember that anything you do has a very good chance of frying your CPU... ....if you do it badly that is

For my own overclocking journey....I started off with an Athlon 1800XP @ 1530mhz FrontSideBus of 133 after ramping the FSB to 141 I now get a very stable AMD Athlon 2000XP, at least that's what sandra says

I slighty over did it with extra cooling on my machine, (better safe than sorry) and I have run up to about 155...but that was a bit unstable to say the least....random power offs, stuff like that is always a bad sign of a machine running too hot!

On a similar note, grafix card overclocking is also something to look into, I've recently upgraded my now well dated GeForce 2 400 MX 64meg for this...

The Medusa!!! The difference in games, is just night and day!

not a very independant review. but a good one none the less

I like VERY much, it was bought because it is cheap and easy to overclock, it's currently running at 295mhz when the factory default was 250! Now that's not too bad.
