I can play them fine with videolan, but I can't get em to play with any of the players that I use with the megacodecpack.

From what I read any divx-compliant decoder should be able to play them (preferably xvid1.1+ tho). Anything I need to do to get it to recognize the encoding ?

Haven't looked around alot really, was hoping I wouldn't have to either

lavc is part of the ffmpeg project btw.

H.264, also known as AVC (Advanced Video Coding) or MPEG-4 Part 10.

There are not many AVC codecs yet. It's in an early stage. And old MPEG-4 decoders don't play them.

Nero (Recode) comes with a decoder that can handle AVC.

Well, I dunno how old 'old' is in this case ^^ Can't say I have the latest version of VLC (only use it if I absolutely have to, like in this case).

Ah, well, I don't have mp4v registered, guess I have to put up with ffdshow for a bit ^^
