Thread: Best anti virus/firewall software?

  1. #1
Hey, I currently use Mcafee virus scan, along with zonealarm pro. Obviously I want to be as safe as possible from hackers, viruses etc, so I was wondering what everyone thought of these programs, and if there are any better alternatives to these?

    Thanks

maybe you should make a list of all the anti-V&F programs and ask the mods to make a poll.

Well my rule of thumb is , If it aint broke don't fix it. But there is a wealth of info here : http://www.tvg.pinecurtain.net/index...ticle=security

Edit: Hey Rossco2005 Every thought of setting up a paypal account? Some would pay for that info !

This is what I use now. KAV personal 5.0.156 (real time settings to recommended & on demand on maximum) & Look 'n' Stop w/enhanced rules set loaded (so I'm totally stealth).

IM using Sygate and AvGfree - so far no problems - even though they dont get the best results in tests...

So far "Zone Alarm Pro" & "Norton Anti-Virus 2005" are working good together. :Knocking on Wood:

I'm fully updated, and it's configured high. Watch how your programs access the internet with the pop up dialog boxes. After awhile, you will get to know how all programs access the internet.

    Needless to say...wasn't hijacked .
