  1. #1

    Dry

i am on win xp sp2.i can usually download files by right clicking on target and saving it but some links coud'nt be saved using this method due to some other reasons, like right click blocked on web page or some thing like in this screen!(attached)

the main thing is the system dosent ask me where to save it and if i dont stop the page from loading it gives me some kind of error!

    * sorry for this bad english *

Use Firefox, it has its own inbuilt download manager.

My idea is to go to a page where you are able to download by going right click>save target as...
then when the save\open thing comes up uncheck the box that says something along the lines of "always do this selection"...

because Internet Explorer seems to be stuck on just "open" mode or possibly always saving to the same place.

I couldn't find anything on google for how to set that back to default.

i'd recoemnd firefox like peerzy does, it's 100times better than IE imo.

I use MSN Messenger and it has a link in the program that always opens IE and goes to load up my hotmail emails, i can click that link then open Firefox, type it www.hotmail.com type in my email and password and still login faster than IE. Infact most of the time IE crashes and doesnt load the page. How can i change it so MSN Messenger opens Firefox and not IE. Before you say Firefox is my defualt browser and its built into MSN to open IE.

actully,i use firefox & opera as an alternate browser but i get the speed of 30+ while downloading from ie and only 5-6kb in download managers, firefox, opera etc.i dont know the reason,i think that there is some thing wrong in our net service and i dont want make a complaint there cuz if i do then i'll be back to 5-6kb from 30+kb.

so my intension is to fix this ie prob
