Thread: Option to scan files?

  1. #1
Using Norton Corporate AV 7.06, but can't see any option for scanning individual files. Is it me missing it, or is there that option somewhere?

    Many Thanks

You should update your Norton, Latest version is 9.0.2

just click scan computer and find the folder where your file is in and select it.

I did actually have version 9 installed but it would not update virus defs for some reason. When I came to uninstall it, it would not let me do so. Evenyaully caused so many problems, that I had to reformat.

I was looking for the "right click" option which I am sure was there before on version 7

Kenny your right it should be there. Right click on a file should give you an option to scan it for a virus. My problem was it happens so fast with Symantec Corp . I did n't think it was working! Look in bottom start bar is it there scaning ?

Yes Peat. I'm sure it was there before, but no trace of it now. So annoying as it was very useful. Wondering if I should try version 9.0 again (ughh) or could I install another anti virus just for file scanning?

Edit: Ken you say you had problems with Symantec AntiVirus Corporate. I'm using the version v9.0.2.1000. Seems very fast . Can you try downloading again or reinstalling ?

    Hi Peat.

Yes it was a version 9.0....something, but lost it when I reformatted. Pretty sure it wasnt 02. 1000 though. Will try and find your version and pluck up courage to install it. Does your version have the right click option?

    Symantec Antivirus Corp : https://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/t83610-.html

Probably best to uninstall first .
