For multiplayer I really like Delta Force Black Hawk Down.
Loads of good maps and weapons.
Always a lot of people online.

You could check out Joint-Operations as well.
Huge multiplayer with up to 150 players on a huge map.
Haven't tried this one myself 'cause my system can't handle it.

go for red-faction its the best game online 4 me cuz it handels fine in 56k too.no lags
