Ok all, I was browsing the forums as usual when I decided to chek on my disk space for my downloads and find out what I need to burn etc...

Anyway when I clicked on Show Desktop, I noticed this file on my desktop called 'settings.dat'.

    Virus Scan showed no problems.

Ad-Aware & SpyBot showed no problems.

Everytime I delete it, it comes back within seconds. I can't get rid of it. Anyone know what this thing is and if it can be rid of?

sounds like some programs shortcut doesn't have the "start in" folder set correctly,
and instead of putting it's working files in the programs folder, it's putting them on your desktop.

    EDIT maybe your WinMX shortcut?

Anyone who I've recommended this too, loves it. Give it a try.

It actually may be my WinMX shortcut. I'm using the beta which doesn't include an installer, so maybe the settings get placed where I run the file from (i.e desktop). Think you found it out. Thanks Vargas
