the amd is a 64bit system, so i would go for that, and its a AMD, what more do you want.

I would go for the AMD as well.
64bit Windows XP is just around the corner.

Why not games made in the last 6 months?... Everyone is talking about this board or that, What makes a them a good board?

I see one post that starts give a defense for their suggestion, in a 64bit...but then looses what might have been a good point by stating, "it's an AMD, what more do you want"

What more, you ask?.... how about something more than "cuz itz AMD,... duh"

I'm asking, because I need to build another system too. I just had one built with the Intel 915 express board and Nvidia 6600 vid card... Stinkin PCI express is too new I guess... every game I tried to play, crashed...

So, could we get a few intelligent answers to, "which board is better, and why"?

Sry Metho, don't mean to step on your thread...

Newer games require DirectX 9 graphics, and often minimum 128MB. Neither of those cards support those specifications. Definitely not intended as games machines.

The Athlon64 3400 will be at least as fast as the Pentium 3GHz in 32 bit mode, and there is 64 bit mode still to come which will really add quite a bit more speed. The result is more performance for the same money.

Can't tell exactly which which processors are being used from the links given, but here are some comparisons:
Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Competitive Comparison
Low Power Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Competitive Comparison

Edit: Windows 64bit for Amd is now in full Beta, and available on 360 day free trial.

Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
