Thanks for the heads up!
I installed 9.0.3.1000 'on top of' 9.0.1.1000 with no problems.
Yes, but we are talking about the Symantec Client Security Version 2 suite.Originally Posted by {I}{K}{E}
Found something else un-related to all of this from Symantec:
SYMANTEC.ENTERPRISE.FIREWALL.V8.ISO-QUARTEX.ShareConnector.iso
Within this package is something called a "Client VPN". Is that any effective or similiar to the client firewall? Anything that a stand alone desktop has any use for? Sorry for acting as if a dunce in all this, but I figure so long as I am getting educated here in the "what's what of Symantec products"...
I understand that the firewall included therein is dedicated for server machines. However I do not know what the client VPN is for or how it is used. But it does say that it is compatible for XP Pro and Home systems.

I think the VPN is an acronym for Virtual Private Networking. Not a firewall.Originally Posted by Izagaia
Update: I just tried installing the AntiVirus v9.0.3.1000 'on top of' Client Security with AntiVirus 9.0.0.1400 and as soon as the InstallShield Wizard starts, I get a message:
[! Symantec Client Security is already installed on this machine.]
