    how to i stop my screen saver coming on every ten mins when watching a film in vlc??? it never used to do it and its drivin me mad. dont tell me to turn the screen saver off pls

    Try having a look under VLC "Preferences". There may well be something that lets you disable the screensaver during playback.
    Make sure you have "advanced options" ticked to be able to see all the "dvanced preferences available to you
