Paused downloads not staying paused

I'm currently using Kazaalite 2.4.3 and have been for a couple of years now. All of a sudden, over the last few days, the downloads I pause that used to stay that way until I resumed them are no longer staying paused. They seem to automatically resume as the program sweeps from one download to the next. I'm on dial-up internet, so it's important that they remain paused until I choose to resume them. Any insights would be helpful.

I assume you are using the accelerator.

Turn it off or reduce the "try to keep alive" settings in KL extensions>accelerator.

On a 56k connection the accelerator should not make a significant difference to your overall speed.
