I have changed the thread title for you

A nice chinese restaurant sounds like a good call, I suggest you check she likes chinese food first though.

You could go to the movies (girly movie mandatory I'm afraid). Sharing a big tub of ice cream or pop corn and holding hands in the dark can make for a pleasant evening.

a cave, a haunted house, an abattoir - she might not enjoy it, but that's not what Valentine's Day is about, is it?

Meh, show her how much the equal rights movement has come along and don't book anything at all, if she's upset then be equally miffed that she hadn't booked anything.

Alternatively take her to the theatre. I have never met a woman who isn't totally up for anything you suggest after a night spent watching someone ponce about on a stage. Weird but true
I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -

The "bin" wasn't an isolated incident was it?

Ha ha ha....this is from the man who bought the love of his life, and mother of his beautiful child.....a bin for Christmas. Obviously an incurable romantic.

See, even a possibly romantic evening at the theatre is ruined by manker considering that it involves 'poncing'.

Really manker.....I despair, let the lad show his girl some of the romance in his soul (and he might get some )

You are merely getting cynical in your oldage....

edit....Biggles got in there first....but it rather proves the point don't you think?

One of my fave Valentines Day prezzies was a trip to watch Marabou Stalk Nightmares - Irvine Welsh at the theatre.

My least favourites were; CD Rewriter and a copy of Scum.

I have scored Valentines Day off me calender this year, but I may treat meself to a new album.
