    i think it's to prevent people from making the posts too wide
    you can attatch txt files though, i had to when i tried to post a long command line on here once

    I do believe all movies on newsgroups are posted as .txt attachments. You need to download the files with a news reader, and the news reader will decode them from the text files... Try Grabit, RealitY has a nice tutorial --->Here<---

    Appearantly. Its weird. The other 70+ GB I got from that group all decoded to rar. I am pretty sure it is the poster's fault. There has got to be a way to decode it.

    Look at my first to see what the file contained.

    Looking at the filename you can see it has two different extentions
    "stargate atlantis 1x04 thirty-eight minutes.7z.001"
    .7z (7zip) and .001


    What I think your options are is to remove the .001 from the filename and see if it turns the text-files into .7z or .rar.
    If so,you know what to do next

    .001 files can be joined with MasterSplitter or HJSplit (this one's free)

    But I'm almost certain that option number one will do the trick.
