    My set-up includes 1 DVD-ROM drive (Liteon LTD163) and 1 DVD+-RW (NEC ND1100A).

I have no problems with my NEC drive but whenever I put a disc (CD+DVD) and try and play it the audio is crackled and distorted. If I listen to audio from my PC direct or throught my burner, the audio is fine.

This leads me to believe that it is not my speakers but my DVD-ROM drive. Is it bust? Or can it be fixed?

Sounds bust, check for any loose connections and check the discs arn't dirty as DVD Drive may not be bale to read them but DVDWrite might. Also is it just audio? Do games install fine? Do DVD's play okay?

DVD Video plays fine. I now notice that when my PC is reading from my DVD-ROM, the sound is distorted also on video files on my PC
