Im using DVDshrink to rip the old 1960 movie(DVD) "Spartacus"
I keep getting this error "cycle redundancy check-error" about 1/2 way through the disk read.
I have tried other programs i.e. Clone DVD, Any DVD, DVDXCopy and DVD Decrypter. all have similar error, the disk does not seem to have alot of scratches or marks, or at least no more then usual from Blockbuster.

    Can anybody help?

    Try cleaning the disk.

Use DVD Decrypter and look in Tools>Settings>Device>Options. Change the Read Speed slower and you can also try increasing the Hardware Read Error Retries.

Well I cleaned the disk ("Spartacus") and it finally copied after another 2-3 more tries I also copied “Troy” with no problems.
Now I have another DVD (The Notebook) that is giving me the same problem. At 60%
And sometimes at 0-3% I cleaned this disk even though it looked spotless.
It still will not copy. Could this be a security feature on the DVD
    Anybody have any advice?

Try copying the individual VOB files to your hard drive first. You may find that the problem is on a file that you would drop anyway.

How are you cleaning the disk? You should always work from the centre outwards, not in a circle.

Damn this is frustrating , I have never had a DVD give me this much trouble.
I know the Movie “The Note Book” is not the greatest of movies. But right now that’s not point, the point is I have a DVD that I can’t RIP and its driving me CRAZY.

any way if anyone has any more helpful advice I would greatly Appreciate it.

I am just having the same problem with a DVD from Blockbuster.

Doesn't work on DVD Shrink or DVD Decryptor. I assumed it was a copy protection but isn't the point of Decryptor to get through the protection?
