    Surprised/Amazed

    Hi,
I'm Having trouble loading a certain webpage, when I try and log on to my account. It seems to be the only webpage I vist that keeps coming up with a "Error on Page" sign in the bottom left hand corner of Internet explorer.
    Why would this be?
I have accessed it from another computer?
I have deleted and cleaned my tempary internet cache etc. I've allowed cookies, turned off my pop-up blocker and firewall but with no success ??
Can anyone think of another reason?

    Thanks in advance for help

a proxy server is kind of an intermediate server between your computer and the internet.
any data sent or recieved via your browser goes through the proxy server.
this can make browsing faster sometimes (as pages get cached) and provide you with a level of anonymity.

sometimes there's a routing problem between your pc and the website.
you can try to determine where the connectoin is dropped by doing a traceroute.
go somewhere like http://network-tools.com/ and perform a trace to the ip address of that site. Just put the IP address of the website in the form field and it'll trace the jumps from your machine to the server.
If you dont' know the IP address of the website, you can try pinging it from a command prompt (ex: ping filesharingtalk.com).

anyway, you can also see if it's a problem with the routing or something by going through a proxy server.
just go to like http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html and find a proxy server (the closer to you, the better) and change your internet settings to use one of these proxy servers.

In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Connection Settings...
select the radio button for 'Manual Proxy Configuration' and in the HTTP Proxy field, paste the IP addresss from one of hte proxy servers in the list, along with the port.
Then just OK and close the options thing and try to go to the website in question. if it works from a proxy there's likely something wrong with the routing from your computer to the website.
Contacting your ISP may help resolve this.

Because you're a fish, therefore you don't have any fingers to operate your computers input devices?
