How does this new PG compare to Protowall?
How does this new PG compare to Protowall?
Well it blocks the same way pwall does (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), and blocks the same IP's. The upper hand that it has, is that its not hard to install, it dosent block almost every site you goto, and it dosent make every site you goto slower.Originally Posted by Sasage

It doesn't block the same way. Protowall blocks on a server level. And I wouldn't recommend using the Peerguardian blocklists - they have no idea why they block certain IPs. In half an hour of use, I found Yahoo to be blocked, the firefox support forum and a couple of other sites I know to be 'safe'.Originally Posted by asmithz
Get the Blocklist manager from Bluetack

and block what you want to block.
I'll use PG2 until the new Protowall beta comes out, then switch back probably.

Yeah blocklists.org fuckinf sucks. it took me over two weeks to find out that it was because of it and peer guardian 2 why, why the images on this site wouldnt load up, puretna.com ( puretna.com is a private tracker site that's dedicated to porn, just like empornium.us) .... i'll try vargas' suggestion..
