Help on FTP Server with Serv-U!

I created a ftp server with Serv-U but when i give my friends the FTP link,
the pop up that ask you for the Username and Password doesn't come up?
Can someone help me?

make sure that there are users setup and all that.

and btw in firefox and maybe some other browsers you have to type ftp://username@url to get the password prompt to come up. you could also try that in IE i guess.
