Thread: Where do you live- satellite style

  1. #1
Thought this thread by shn was too cool to just let go.

Below is the house I grew up in. It is a 3 story redbrick with a slate-tile roof built in 1906.
The view is of the side door, which is what I used.

Next is a pulled back view.

The "y" shows a large bowl shaped area where we played football. It is a drained pond used in the St. Louis World Fair of 1904.

The circled house, just a block up, is that of Marlon Perkins. Older members may remember him as host of Mutual of Omahas' Wild Kingdom.

Too bad the photos were taken in the winter, but I guess in the summer, all you would see is green treetops.

Well....where I'm living doesn't have any entry in that program. Maybe if you want to see a view of the trees and a lake from thousands of feet in the air...

I don't remember the address of the house I grew up in...

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

Shn covered up the road name in her photo, but if you plug in her coordinates you find that she grew up a few hundred miles west of me in Kansas.

Unless you are in a big city or metropolitan area of one, or not in the US, you may not get a great image

Or, if you live in Australia like I do, you'll get nothing but a big green blur, even if you reside in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

I still don't see what's so interesting about blurry American rooftops anyway.

If you don't care then don't post. Otherwise you just seem jealous. Just like the first time you said the exact same thing.

Wow... blurry photos of american rooftops.

    That's almost interesting...
It is lots of fun and I have only posted the tip of the iceberg.

Am I jealous? Or are you arrogant? It's a matter of perspective.

Even if I live in Sydney (Australia's most populated city), as far as the folks in the good ol' USofA are concerned, the entire place is nothing but a huge grass paddock.

What is right with this picture?
