    ok so from my other topic u knew that the pc was fucked so i;m gonna take it to my friend's pa's store but i wanna get rid of some stuff on the hard drive but the pc won't turn on if i stick it on another pc what will happen?

    hook it up as slave and u can see the drive in my computer as if it's another hard drive. then delete as you wish.

    how do u hook it up as slave what problems can i encounter since the hd is winxp and different specs programmed into it

    There should be a diagram on the actual harddrive itself showing where you should put the little pin it. And aslong as you set it properly as slave, there won't be any problems when you look at this harddrive. You'll see all the Windows folders, program files etc, however they do not affect the settings of the current machine. Just consider this harddrive you put in as storage and delete whatever files you want.

    you jus switch the jumper on the back of the drive (as schuler said) and plug the drive into one of the middle spots on an ide cable.
    Unless there's a master spot free.
