Have tried that now, it says sometihg across the lines
Sorry is already have this verison installed, please unistall through add/remove programs
Grrr looks like youre gonna have to remove it manually.
good luck, you'll need it.
clean ALL java related files out
you may not have it in add/remove programs
look in:
1. C:\Program Files\
delete the "Java" folder
2. C:\Program Files\Common Files\
delete the "Java" folder
3. C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\
delete the "Sun" folder
4. C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\
you should see a folder with a long ass string of numbers & letters,
something like this: {7148F0A6-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0142060}
open that folder, and it should be the java installer, if so delete the folder
that covers all the usual suspects i think,
then clean the registry, and see if you can then install a fresh JRE
i have used regseeker in the past, no complaints, and its free
regcleaner is also free, and i've seen it recommended as well
i do believe both make backups of entries they remove (regseeker i know does)
so you can restore easily if needed
Ahhhh still cant get rid of them, is there a way i can just remove it from th Add/Remove?? Its pretty much uninstalled,
in regseeker, theres an "installed applications" selection in the main menuOriginally Posted by .Dan.
select that, scroll down to the java entry, right click > delete
reboot and it should be gone
