    But the distinction between hard rock and metal is pretty fuzzy.

    I'll agree with that. Things used to be so much less complicated, you go look for music, and might have 5-6 classifications, now days, you have like 40 and the same bands listed under multiple classifications

    Rent the movie School of Rock . I watched with the little one............... again !
    But the Doors ,Black Sabbath , AC/dc , Deep Purple , Beatles ,Stones . Great time for music . Jimmy Hendrich , Janis Joplin. Or download or rent Woodstock the movie ,all you would need .
