Sometimes, I get .mpg or .wmv videos that cannot be forwarded.
For instance, if I try to forward a .mpg video to start at 10min, the video screen & audio will become still, but the counter will still be counting.
Similarly, I got some .wmv videos that if I try to forward them, they will simply stop playing, and I would have to press Play to make it start playing from the beginning.
How can I remedy these problems. thanks

Those files are 'damaged', missing some info required for the seeking. There is not much you can do about it. Some playing may allow a bit of seeking (but it will be slow). Try Media Player Classic for WMV and VideoLAN for MPEG.
