With my new computer came a copy of wordperfect. Im very happy with this program although it has has a few faults, such as slow loading time (only happened recently) and the files made with this pregoram cannot be opened in microsoft word (bad for school projects).

I was wondering if you guys use any other word processors that may be worth ckecking out. Prefferably ones that are compatible with microsoft word.

Open office is pretty good IMO.

Not that fond of Abi-word tho', opening some .docs in it made them look like gibberish.

I'd definitely go with Open Office if you want a good and free Office-suite.

I'd recommend OpenOffice myself - I'm using the 2.0 Beta myself and it's pretty stable although I'd recommend the Stable 1.1.4 versoin myself.

Download it at OpenOffice.org. Just remember that when you save, to set the File Type as .doc
