Started a new thread, to get away from the politics that have developed there following the announcement that was early...

    RIP

Didnt believe in many of the things he did, but he was a nice chap for all that..

Despite many, i also believe he had a far greater hand in the fall of Communism than Ronald "McDonald" Reagan ever did. His succession to Pope encouraged the people of Poland in a way the west never could, and the rest of the Warsaw Pact followed..

He will be missed by millions.

Yes, to those to whom he was important: you have my condolences.

Agreed, his reason on certain issues were a bit off. But certainly,

    Rest In Peace.

    I hope you found eternity.

I did not realize that he started his career as Pope in 1978. Honestly, those old white haired men look the same to a non-follower. He really had a long tenure.

In 1983, I was in Vatican Square and he came out to bid everyone a good morning, as is custom. He does so in about 7 different languages.

So it seems, I have actually lost an old acquaintance.
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?

A great loss to people of any faith, John Paul II loved all people, and did plenty to show that during his time

I could take time to argue my point but it's not that important.
