no (midi is only for simple instrumental noise's)
by changing the kbs of the MP3!
    standard kbs is like 128
lowering it to 64 will reduce file size (and quality)
also u can convert it to mono to help save space

just use kazaa or limewire and do a software search for
    mp3 converter

Check if your D500 supports variable bit rate.

If it does, you can usually convert to VBR without loss of quality, but you need a good encoder (such as Lame) to do it. Lame is free to download here.

Lame itself is not the easiest of tools to use (command line only), so you will probably want a windows front end such as WinLame.

id use dbpoweramp, and squish them by lowering quality.

most phones only have mono, so do that for a start off, then drop quality to like 128vbr or maybe a touch further. If you;re listening to them as tunes, then fine, else get MP3Direct cut to chop say the first minute off, and use that, if its just for a ringtone.

    totally unnecessary....
a google search will turn up plenty of free rippers that, IMO, some will out-do a cracked payware app
dbPoweramp is one of the best, and its free here
EAC is reputed as THE best, and its free here
theres also one that samurai uses, freerip, here
theres a guide here in the forum, about rippers, and i do believe they all do conversions as well here

That's the version I'm using atm, but 3.90.3 has been tested and tweaked more thoroughly, so it might be the better encoder.

    Lots of lame versions here.
