I can't remember where I discovered this "goodie" and if was in this forum I apologise for repeating it.

    Go to

    http://www.soft4kids.com/?tag=fromclient

    and get BT Engine.

I've been using it for a month now and it really seems to optimise my download speed at the top end of my capacity.

Some of us pay our own hard earned cash for our meagre 2 meg ADSL connections!!

If you use custom settings for bittorrent porgrams like Azureus you dont need those tools. just tweak your program/windows 2 get better speeds.

I always get full speed 512kb/s

Are you sayng you have that many torrents running ? atm I'm downloading at about 35kbps, but I have a 5MB down connection. I don't expect it to get much better, cause of the seed/leech ratio

Anyone know what this program does to improve speeds? Does it do anything other than open more ports for peers?

I don't think it will improve your speed. If your download is poorly seeded it will not get you motoring. What it appears to do is level out the fluctuations in speed and near the top end of what is possible - given the swarm you are in.
