Alright well yesterday, I called my cable company and they said that the main server where I get my service from was down, and that it would be up later, so now I get on, 24 hours later, and only Internet Explorer works, Firefox, AOL, and AIM do not work, and not to mention any other programs that need the internet to run. How do I get these other programs to run?

What other information do you need? And I just think the cable company is being retarded with the fixing of the cable services, as its been about two days now, and it still says on the phone that my area is having problems and they will be fixed as soon as possible.

    Router
    Make
    Model
    Modem
    Make
    Model
    ISP
    Name
    Service
    Other
    Proxy?
Tried System Restore (Restores registry settings)
    Tried other Modem/Router/CAT 5 Cable
    Wireless or Wired

    How about that?

If your area is having problems and will be fixed soon then how about you wait for them to fix it before complaining

I had a similar problem with cableone a couple of weeks ago. it took them almost 3 days to fix it.
Have you tried turning the modem off, unplugging it from the mains, turn off the computer, plug the modem back and turn it on then reboot the computer?
This often cures many cable modem problems.

Also are you using Mcafee firewall? If so try disabling it to see if you can connect.... make sure you turn it back on after.

If this all fails call tech support...it's free isn't it?????????.

If they say it's their server then patience is the word of the day

it’s an election with no Democrats, in one of the whitest states in the union, where rich candidates pay $35 for your votes. Or, as Republicans call it, their vision for the future.
