    Cool

Do you think it might be possible to sockify grabbit, using as a proxy an ip of the isp of your choice, so that the isp thinks you are actualy allowed to grabb news?
I think it would, using "socks cap" and proxy hunter, the point is I don't know how proxy hunter works.

I'm asking this for educational purposes only off course. so that people understand how proxy and sock protocol works together

Don't think it's possible since ISP's always ask for a username and password before you can access usenet through them.

    hmm...asspie

Most ISPs don't ask for usernames passwords, and allow based on IP. In fact I knew of none that did until Filliz.

I think most ISP dont also although if you try to get in via proxy or vpn it will reject you thinking your not a customer then.

Mine probably asks for my pass and uname bacause we've got this stupid monthly limit at our ISP.

They even have a separate upload limit.
    Damn fuckers
There goes the fun in Emule

    Dl'speeds are tops though.
Seen myself dl'ing at ±800KB/s on newsgroups
But I'll still be switching ISP when I get the chance.

    hmm...asspie
