Try and join a few private trackers for bittorrent as well. Good range of stuff available and the public ones can't really be trusted.

First download a decent bittorrent client . It's up to personal preference which one is right for you. I'm using ABC just now. Then join a site like elitetorrents.org. Once you download a torrent file, you should then just be able to open it to start the download.
