Have you looked at the Sempron 3000+ for Socket A?

Unlike the other Semprons it has 512K L2 cache so it isn't "crippled". Comparing specifications I can't tell any difference between this and the Athlon XP. The speed is only the same as an XP2800+ as far as I can remember, but that's not a problem as long as you know what you are getting.

Like I said, it's got everything the other athlons do (as far as I can tell), with the added bonus of running at a lower voltage (I'm fairly certain of this).

Seems like an excellent processor for the socket A platform, the only problem is that this is something a lot of people seem to have caught on to, so it may be hard to acquire, even though it's still being made (I think)
