Thread: case fan connect

    i have a lian 60 plus PC case I just bought that has couple of fans in it

    now one fan thats the fan at the top of the box

    has

    two 4-pin connectors (male and female) where do I connect these??

    I'm assuming that they may go in the power supply the power supply I have has to male 4 pin cords I think that say fan only i guess one of them go in there

    my mobo is this

    another question with the power supply on that motherboard

    what is the ATX 12 V for??? that 4 pin plug on the mobo at the top left

    Yes, plug it in there if you want the PSU to regulate your fan speeds ( I'm thinking you have an Antec PSU?).
    If you'd prefer the fan to run all the time, just daisy chain it into a regular +12v cable.

    It supplies power to all the widgets and thingies that the ATX connector doesn't...just plug the damn thing in.

    ok so one of those pulgs teh female goes in the power supply. I just leave the male plug out it does nothing?

    yep its Antec

    I guess the fan power connector similar to this:



    One side connects to the power supply and that leaves the other end available to connect other devices. Yes you can leave it doing nothing.

    Like VB said yes you can hook up fans to those connectors from your psu if the fans have em, I know whith my intake fan I hooked it up one of those, the exhaust hooked up to the mobo.

    Ontopic:
    The male is just another connector, in case you need another port to connect a female to, and you are short on power cable from the PSU.
