    Cool

Anyone have experiences to share on a hardware capture-encode/PVR?

    Some are external boxes:

Plextor PX-TV402U ConvertX & TV Tuner
    http://www.plextor.com/english/products/tv402u.htm

    Some are PCI:

    ATI TV Wonder Elite
    http://www.ati.com/products/tvwonderelite/index.html

Anyone have a recommendation for me?

Big difference seems to be whether hardware mpeg-4 and div-x is available on a device and/or whether that is needed.

I want to convert a boatload of VHS tapes to DVD, but I'd also prefer a device that provided PVR and TV Tuner capabilities.

    Cheers,
    -Noble.

    Try Myth TV.

It's open source so it's free.
