    Hey Guys,

Just got my RAM from NewEgg after the first stick resulted in my PC not to boot, it would just make long beeps. Both sticks of RAM I received do not work. I am stuck with 512. Am I supposed to be doing something special? LIke reseting the CMOS or changing Something in the BIOS? My mobo is ABit NF7-S.

    THanks.

Ah yes, I remember the topic, is it a dual channel kit?

    Yes, I tried 3-2 and then 3-1.

Don't know anything about dual channel kits, but I was going to steal the RAM from my sis' PC to see if that works. If not, then I think my mobo might be bad.

What is the sequence of beeps?
Write them down in the format long-short-short-long-pause-repeat

These are POST beep codes, they actually tell you what the fault is.

Did you try the new RAM all by itself?

The beep codes are: LONG-LONG-LONG-LONG and then I stopped listening because the RAM was in the DIMM3, the all by itself, where it should work.

Can someone recommend me another brand or stick that would be compatible with my current 512? Or should I risk another RMA?

Would this Crucial http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146541 be compatible with the Abit NF7-S and my current RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16820145416?
