    they're exactly the same as text files but windows links them with your registry.

    Just associate them with notepad.

    I think it's something to do with an .nfo file is slightly smaller in kbs than a .txt file - so back in the days of yore, when dial-uppers were concerned about stuff like that, it was decided that .nfo files was the way to go.

    Maybe I found that out from a thread on here :unsuer:

    i merely thought they were called 'nfo' cause that is what they are

    oh and manker only some nfo work with notepad others need wordpad or suchlike
