    Question Mark

ok, im new to transferring DV video to computer but is this how you do it?
I have the CANON ELURA50 Mini DV (it has a DV in/out Terminal)

    What I need to buy:
    IEEE 1394 cable
    IEEE 1394 FIREWIRE PCI CARD
    Ulead software

Im planning on buying this video kit from anitec.ca which had everything...
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...e=Bytecc%20Inc

or im i better to buy a seperate cable and pci card and just "buy" the Ulead software?

P.S how can i found out if i already have a FIREWIRE PORT on my computer? it is located on the motherboard or video card?

if you have a slot somewhere on the outside of the pc which looks like a firewire port, then thats the guy! its a little bigger than a usb connection...google for a pic.

buy a firewire pci card (i got a usb2 and firewire one from ebay) and usually get a cable included.

goto videohelp.com for tutorials on how to transfer the data across - note, youre not encoding at all at this point...then you can encode with your fav software - ulead is pretty good. again, check, videohelp.com
