I've only read Reaper Man, which I enjoyed thoroughly, and I read about half of The Light Fantastic, but never really got into it, that was about 10 years ago, though. Any suggestions? your personal favourite perhaps?

Death has a small part in Soul Music, but he is one of the main characters in Hogfather.

Death is the only character who appears in all of the Discworld books, even if it's just briefly.
I'll echo evildon's suggestions. They're both very good.

    I like all of them.

But one of my favourites isn't a discworld novel, and nor is it by Pratchett alone.

Good Omens, which is a collaboration between Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is excellent and, thanks to Gaiman, perhaps a bit darker. Well worth the read IMO.
