Thread: Quick Converting question!

Can someone tell me what is close to Vcd or Svcd and works on alot of dvd systems. Everytime I try to make a movie Vcd or Svcd even when it's 300 Mb it turns into 1000mb and won't fit on my cd. Is there something better? If so please tell me the program.

You need to set your bitrate so that you have better compression. There is a great format called CVD, china video disk, that works on all dvd players because it is a native format. It changes the dvd image size from 704 x 480 to 352 x 480 so you can get great quality when you reduce a 7 gig dvd down to 1.6 gigs for a runtime under 2 hours, 20 mins. Still, vcd should work fine for you if you are using the 1100 kb/sec bitrate, and the 320 x 240 image size. I recommend using DVD2SVCD with the CCE SP 2.50 encoder - it will produce great quality vcd, svcd, cvd or dvdr outputs.

DVD2DVD - select DVD output, select advanced DVD features, and in frameserver, select CVD image size - there are tutorials for this app linked to its website:
