Same thing for me, but I think I might have another work around

I'm running Windows 2000 Pro with IE 6.0.2800.1106

Well, I was I'm about to reboot. Hopefully everything goes as planned. If so, I'll post what I did.

    Update:
Rebooted and ran the UMPNP vulnerability check and the updates were installed because I'm no longer vulnerable.

Has Microsoft fixed the JavaScript Exploit?

I find it another way but this give you a legit validation code
u have to use 640pid keygen windows xp pro vlk and change the range from 640-0 to 64-0. then make a key and change the key with keyfinder. then go to validation and see what it does. ooo legal ah?
ok the disanvatage is that u have to do it every time u want to update.cuz the 640 old key will come back after u reboot.

theunofficialmicrosoftblog is reporting that Microsoft has updated the Windows Genuine Validation tool to circumvent the hack exposed last week that allowed the system to be bypassed with a snippet of JavaScript code. The Validation is now a two-step process that first generates a code and then has you copy and paste that code to complete the process.

With (a legal) win98SE I had to copy and paste a code I got, when I wanted to download something off their site, less than a week after the genuine valdiation thing had been implemented.

I believe the Windows Genuine Validation tool has been updated again. On my last visit to the site it installed a new tool. The disable add-ons trick with Windows Genuine Validation seems to have been fixed its now unable to be enable and disabled(greyed out)...I'm still able to update fully(legal key )...But I have heard of some people who are having problems. There does seem to be a patch floating around.
