Would u purchase more music if:
Music CDs cost $12
Music CDs cost $10
You could compile your own mix CD for $15
Forget CDs, eaiser to download
Still too high, $5 or less

That's my opinion. It's not about money for me.Forget CDs, eaiser to download

$5 is good...artists would still get the same amount from each album as they did when they sold CD's @$25 an album...Still too high, $5 or less
i think downloading is much easier instead of getting up and buying the cd.
Here is the way I think it should work (not that you all care about my opinion). I would be willing to pay for music if the following conditions were met.
Have to option to download individual tracks or full albums. Give a per track discount for full albums. Thats is the way the rest of the business world operates: the volume discount. You get one price if you by 1 widget. You get a better price (and maybe even free freight) if you buy 100 widgets.
Have an option to pay a little extra to movie clips, special artwork, etc. The prices should be in the 25 cents (US) per track for a full album and maybe 40 or 50 cents for per track for individual tracks.
Make all the music available in a variety of popular formats and bitrates (mp3, ogg, ape, wma, etc).
Make available fast connections for downloading.
The record companies will still make their money. They would eliminate, or at least drastically reduce, manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and storage costs. This model won't come without sacrifices, namely the brick-and-mortar retailers but that is the tough reality of the business world. Just ask anyone in American steel or automobile industry.
get rid of the record companies. musicians record their own songs and put them up on the internet for 5 bucks or whatnot. they dont even get 5 dollars for every 20 dollar album.. this way, its better for the consumer and the artist.
signature removed, check the boardrules.
Still buy a shitload of albums that i've dl 1st from the net...
Live by the rule... if you like it support the artists....
well if the music industry gave us the choice to just give the artist $3 out of the $30 we pay for a CD then I would the artist only gets taht much from a CD
