ok, hi! i am new to this forum!
anyways...lets get to business
ok!
Sometimes when i d/l a software file (.exe), when the d/l is finished and i click on it, a command prompt box flyes in and out VERY fast! this doesnt happen all the time but sometimes i wait a LOOOOONG time for something to d/l and then that stupid box comes out!!! why does this happen? are there any ways to fix it?
do i need to have DOS on my PC for the file to work?

That has happend to me I don't know it could be a virus get a AV, update it and then make sure it's not a virus. And what is this program that u downloaded?

i have a good AV and its up to date...
there were a lot of files... on of them was "Nascar Racing 2003"
i dont know...i dont think it is a virus

Scan the file if nothing comes up it might just be a fake.

i actually deleted teh file a while ago but now another file does that ("jedi.academy")...
i will scan it and see what happens

U should just go to Suprnova.org and download the game all of them work. They have everything too.

Try renaming the extension, if the file is 500+ MB try using it as a .bin or .iso.
If they are smaller try .zip or .rar.

well i tried that but then it gives me an error...

After renaming, you can't just double click it (if in fact it is a .bin or a .iso). Just FYI in case you don't know this stuff - .bin and .iso are CD image files, you need to burn them to a CD or use a program to mount them to a virtual drive to be able to read them. A lot of people will rename these to .exe so that they will appear when you search for software.
