if there is an easier way than this i would love to hear it though, the easier the better is my motto.
there is a FAR easier way.
1.use virtual dub to reduce the frame rate(if needed),resize to 64x64 and crop your image then import that video into ulead gif animator and your basically done

ive got ulead gif animator and virtual dub and must admit the way i do it was a lot easier than your way. its just the file size i cant work out but i will get around to that.
animation shop is a lot better than ulead gif animator, couldnt get away with that at all.

There was nothing in the link to suggest what the image may be. I therefore could make no judgement on it without looking.
I will respond in any way I chose, it is my opinion that this trivialises a national disaster for the people of the USA. I find that to be totally offensive.
That is not the same as viewing the original footage. What he has effectively done is made a cartoon, for the purposes of entertainment, of 5,000 people dying.

JmiF,
I'm sorry mate but I've seen at least 2 avatars/sigs with the WTC in them without anyone being flamed for them.
Do we stop showing videos of WW2 or Vietnam because it offends? I like to think that by seeing these attrocities then, just maybe, people will learn that these things are wrong.
Just my opinion.

I support everyone's right to express their opinion, including mine.
Viewing videos is not the same thing. The point was specious the first time it was made and remains so.
I fully agree with your point about remembering the attrocities. Santayana said those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it (paraphrase).
I, like you, am only expressing my opinion. I find the avatar totally offensive. You do not. At least we can both express ourselves without one describing the other as braindead.

with animation shop 3 you can use the wizard to import a *.avi file (i think it also works with *.mpeg)
and stay on the off topic (!?), if the mods think the link shouldn't be there they'll something about it
Like you implied it's the lounge mate. So no need to stay on the off topic, unless we feel like it.
Scene: A cafe. One table is occupied by a group of Vikings with horned
helmets on. A man and his wife enter.
Man (Eric Idle): You sit here, dear.
Wife (Graham Chapman in drag): All right.
Man (to Waitress): Morning!
Waitress (Terry Jones, in drag as a bit of a rat-bag): Morning!
Man: Well, what've you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam;
egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage
and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam
bacon spam tomato and spam;
Vikings (starting to chant): Spam spam spam spam...
Waitress: ...spam spam spam egg and spam; spam spam spam spam spam spam baked
beans spam spam spam...
Vikings (singing): Spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam!
Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a
Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with
truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
Wife: Have you got anything without spam?
Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
Wife: I don't want ANY spam!
Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?
Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!
Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam (crescendo through next few lines)
Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Urgghh!
Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like spam!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up! (Vikings stop) Bloody Vikings! You can't have egg bacon
spam and sausage without the spam.
Wife (shrieks): I don't like spam!
Man: Sshh, dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your spam. I love it.
I'm having spam spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam
spam and spam!
Vikings (singing): Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!! Baked beans are off.
Man: Well could I have her spam instead of the baked beans then?
Waitress: You mean spam spam spam spam spam spam... (but it is too late and
the Vikings drown her words)
Vikings (singing elaborately): Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful
spam! Spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam. Lovely spam!
Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Spam spam
spam spam!
